Congratulations!!!!

Adam and I would like to take a minute and say congratulations to Dustin and Roslynn Dixon. They will be expecting their first bundle of joy shortly after us in August. The holidays with the McCord's will be quite interesting next year with a 4 month old, seven month old, 2 1/2 year old and an almost 4 year old. We are ever expanding!!!!! That's if Roslynn is only having one...wink, wink. We are very excited to have lots of little ones running around.

Roslynn- I hope you are feeling better with each day!!!!!

Expecting Mother's!!!!!!!!!

I have seen these signs in the past and always thought how convenient it will be when I am pregnant to park in those spots. Then once I was pregnant I couldn't bring myself to actually park in them, I felt like I wasn't "pregnant enough". So last night I was going to make a big pot of chili for the Colts game when I realized I was missing a few key ingredients, so I jumped in the car and headed to Marsh. I decided since it was cold and I was only picking up a few things I would park in the "Expecting Mothers" parking spot. Now I am addicted!!!! I believe I will continue to seek out stores that have these special parking spots (if you know of any please let me know :), it was so convenient and I can only imagine how nice it will be once the baby is here. Now if I can just get every store I visit on board with these signs that would be great!!!!
One great perk of being pregnant!!!

The Crib is Up!!!!

Adam and I ordered the baby crib last week and we were able to get it put up last night. I have heard many horror stories on how hard they can be to put together, I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive. Much to my surprise Adam had the crib up and complete in an hour!! Much because of my excellent direction reading of course!!!! Hee Hee!!

Here are a few pictures!! I am sure there will be many more nursery photos to follow over the next few months.

Congrats to Jason and Jenny!!!

Our friends Jason and Jenny Power welcomed their first baby boy today. His name is Drew Michael Power and he arrived at 2:00am this morning after 38 long hours of labor. Drew weighed 8lbs. 12oz. and was 21 1/4 inches long. He was a big boy, seems to be the trend of most my girlfriends this year. (I am selfishly hoping for smaller :)

Jenny was put on bed rest last week and was afraid it would be a long road to her due date on the 26th of this month. We are happy for her and Jason that they didn't have to wait that long to meet their little guy.

Congratulations Jason and Jenny, and to Drew too...for having great parents!! We can't wait to meet the little guy!

Ugh...Maternity Pants

Well it's official, as of today I can no longer fit in any of my normal pants. I had a few pair of my work pants that I have still been able to wear the past few weeks. Today was my breaking point. I gave in and went and bought 2 more pair of maternity pants today. I hate buying them but at this point they are a necessity, I can no longer finagle my old pants to fit with safety pins and hair ties. Adam keeps telling me they are an investment because I will wear them again, I guess that's one way to look at it.

I have to admit they are much more comfortable and I am sure the baby appreciates it too!!!

4th OB Appointment!

We had our fourth appointment on Wednesday and everything went well. We heard the heartbeat again and it continues to get stronger, this time it was 144 beats per minute. The heartbeat will slow the farther along the baby is. I love hearing it and could listen to it for hours!!

We did find out that I have a very rare blood type and will require a few shots throughout my pregnancy. It isn't anything major but they like to do the shots as a precaution. I have O-negative blood type, only 15% of the population has this so the chances of the baby being positive blood type is where the concern comes in. We are unsure of Adam's blood type but more then likely he is positive which would give our baby a 50% chance of being positive. I guess I had to have a little excitement with the pregnancy since I lucked out of being sick the whole first trimester. Sorry to my girlfriends who weren't so lucky :(

New Year's Eve is the big day....the day we will find out if we are having a boy or girl. I was pretty bummed that it wouldn't be before Christmas. The doctor said the longer we can wait the more they will be able to check on the ultrasound. Apparently the doctors aren't too worried about the sex of the baby, they want to see the heart and brain. The nerve!!!!! I was all set to tell the receptionist we couldn't wait that long because we would be "out of town" for the holidays (a little white lie never hurt anyone) but Adam of course convinced me otherwise. So the rest of you will have to wait in suspense with us!!!!!

Thanksgiving!!!

Adam and I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We were able to celebrate with both sides of my family this year and I am very thankful to have all the family I do. Lots of kids running around and the laughter makes it exciting. We are looking forward to adding our own kiddo to the bunch!!! I feel like I'm on a high when I leave my family functions because of all the laughter we share, usually it can be attributed to my father. I can see even though my dad and his sisters are grown he still drives them nuts, I'm not sure if it's because he was the only boy or because he was the baby. It makes me smile and hope that one day we will have a family just the same.

Adam and I have a lot to be thankful for this year, with the economy right now we are both very blessed to have our jobs. We have great families who live close and we are able to visit with often. Our friends are very special to us and we feel blessed to have each and every one of them in our lives. Most of all we are very thankful to be having a baby and everything so far is going so smoothly. We are very fortunate!!

We wanted to say "thank you" to our friends and family and let you all know you are loved. We wish everyone a happy holiday season!

Love,
Adam and Sara
