Lazy Sunday

Yesterday we did our best to sleep in and get some rest, once we got up and moving we took a little family trip to Menard's. I know, pure excitement right? Adam had decided a few weeks ago that he wanted to build a fire pit in our back yard.

After a successful Menard's trip we returned home and the construction of the fire pit was under way, Maddy and I decided we would lay on a blanket in the yard and supervise. Next thing I know Maddy and I had successfully taken an hour nap and the fire pit was complete!!

Here are a few pics that Adam snapped while we were napping, I have to admit it was a relaxing, lazy Sunday afternoon.

Just a few pictures

I thought we would share a few recent photos of Madelyn at 3 1/2 months old. Maddy loves to rub her soft blankets and stuffed animals against her face, especially when she is sleepy. Here are a few pictures of her in her crib with her stuffed animals.

The pictures of me holding her aren't the best, she wasn't in the best mood at the time but we had to show off her tye-dye t-shirt that she (the daycare ladies) made on Tuesday. It was so cute when I picked Madelyn up, all of the kids had their t-shirts on and they had taken group photos.

Indiana State Fair

We had a busy weekend! We went to Anderson and Bloomington this weekend to see both sets of grandparents, yet we still found time to take Maddy to the fair.

It was quite hot and we didn't stay long but we managed to make one lap and take in all the fair "smells". We made it through the swine barn to see the "World's Largest Boar", he didn't seem to be too amused to have hundreds of people gawking at him. Maddy wasn't too interested in the animals, she is more of a people watcher. She has learned that if mom and dad carry her facing outward she can really take in all the sights. Madelyn did manage to have a staring contest with one "large" horse named Gabby, Maddy gave Gabby a run for her money and didn't seem the least bit phased that the horse was 100 times her weight.

Next year should be a little more interesting, we will probably be chasing Madelyn all over the place.

Our little fish!

Maddy had her first dip in the baby pool this weekend, surprisingly she liked it better then bath time. We may be signing up for swim lessons soon!!

Play date!

I had the opportunity to get together with a few friends from high school this week, 3 of us recently had baby girls and it was great to get together and introduce them to one another.

Larissa came to visit us on Tuesday night, it was her first time meeting Maddy. It was so great having her with us, I miss her very much since she lives in Chicago. I have to say that Riss is probably the best with little babies, especially since she doesn't have any of her own...just yet. Wink, wink!!!!!

Enjoy the pics of Lacey and Olivia (4 months), Sara and Madelyn (3 months), Lydia and Ava (9 months) and Larissa (holding Grace's baby doll). Lots of beautiful ladies!! I should also mention that Lydia has two other beautiful kiddos, Gabe and Grace.

Log rolls are next!!

Maddy has officially rolled over from belly to back and now back to belly. Our next mission will be perfecting the log roll! At his rate she may be crawling in no time at all.

Adam and I are both thrilled every time she rolls over but to be honest I thought we would have more than 13 weeks before she was mobile.

We hope to catch her new trick on video soon but for now a few pics will have to do.
