Touch & See...no longer touch & feel

Maddy has become quite the active little girl the past few weeks. Adam has been able to feel her kicks and is quite shocked at how hard they can be...if he only knew. The ultrasound tech kept commenting on how long her legs are, well lets just say I am a believer!!!

This weekend on Saturday morning Maddy was doing her normal aerobic routine and I thought to myself I wonder if you can see them? I laid down and Adam was watching intently when all the sudden we saw it!! Adam's face was priceless and then I of course started laughing and couldn't stop. I will never forget that look, I think a little piece of reality set in on Saturday morning.

Last night as I was laying in bed and Maddy was doing her normal pre-sleep dance routine I decided to see if I could play along. She would kick and I would poke back at her, she would wait a second and then kick back. This went on for a few minutes before I guess she got tired. It is so fun to have this much interaction with her already.

Madelyn, we can't wait for you to be here!!!

It's Pink!!

Adam has been busy painting the nursery and he is finally done. I think this project took a little extra time, I have never seen him so concerned about making sure it was perfect. Monday night he said "I just want to touch up a few places". No big deal I thought, an hour later I went upstairs to find that he had practically repainted every wall again. I think this is only the beginning of Maddy having her daddy wrapped around her little finger!!

We still have a few pieces of furniture to put in place before I can start hanging things but here are a few pictures of Miss Madelyn's nursery so far.

Let the painting begin!

I thought I would post a few before pictures so we can capture the full transformation of the nursery. We have removed all the furniture and Adam got all the nail holes patched. We are now ready for primer and paint, Adam will be in a sea of pink for a few days.

Happy Birthday Lucinda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were able to celebrate Lucinda's 60th birthday on Saturday. We had a family get together for cheese cake (thanks Margaux) in the afternoon and then Steve, Lucinda, Margaux, Dirk, Adrienne, G.G., Adam and I went to Benihana for dinner. It was a great visit and dinner with everyone.

Lucinda, here is to 60 more!!! Our kids are lucky to have such a fantastic grandma!

The Baby Bedding is here!!

Yes, it's here already!!!! Some people think I am crazy for already purchasing the baby bedding but the books I am reading say to have everything complete 30 days before your due date. We are on track!!! It took quite a bit of looking before Adam and I found something we could agree on. I am not a fan of pastel colors and just couldn't bring myself to purchase a lot of the cutesy, character themed bedding. We both felt this was a very classy, sophisticated bedding that Maddy will be able to grow into.

I will post more pictures as the nursery progresses!!

(Sorry to those that left comments on my original post, I had to delete it due to some errors it caused on the blog)

23 Weeks!!

Here is the most recent belly picture at 23 weeks. I was quite excited when I put this shirt (not maternity) on the other day because when I got it out of the closet Adam laughed and said "yeah right". It fit... is all I have to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay Tuned!!!!!

We have started the renovation process on Madelyn's nursery. We are in the process of getting things prepped for a fresh coat of pink paint!!

I will post pictures and updates soon on the transformation!!

Kara & Scott- CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

We would like to wish Kara and Scott the best of luck as they join us in the adventure of becoming parents. Kara recently found out she is expecting and will have a baby in August. Kara is my best girlfriend from high school and we used to joke that we would live next door to each other and have one big white picket fence that surrounded our yards. This way our kids could play together and we could chat. This will be a little difficult since she and Scott live in Wisconsin and us in Indiana, but she can move back to Indiana anytime!! :)
Best of luck to both of you during this exciting time!!! Kara, I hope you start to feel better soon!
Love,
The McCords

It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adam and I had our 22 week ultrasound on Wednesday the 31st and we were able to ring in the New Year celebrating the upcoming arrival of our little girl. It was so exciting to see her face, legs, arms, heart, brain. We even had the pleasure of her sticking her tongue out at us a few times...already!! The ultrasound tech kept commenting on how long her legs are, were not sure where she got those from but definetly not from her parents:)

Adam and I were able to spend New Year's day with his parents, they very patiently let us shop around and consequently we have already bought her a wardrobe. I couldn't resist all the little pink dresses and outfits. Adam even picked out a few that he liked!! Steve and Lucinda bought her the first piece of camo, Adam was thrilled. He says we can't make her to "girlie".
We have had a name picked out for quite some time, we will name her Madelyn Rose McCord. We will call her Maddy for short.

We are so very excited and being able to give her a name has made it much more real. We can't wait for our little Madelyn to arrive!!!!!!
