Memorial Day Weekend...Maddy's first holiday!

We had a nice relaxing Memorial Day weekend and hope that you all did as well, we were able to spend time with family and friends. We are very thankful for the soldiers who have fought and are currently fighting for our freedom so that we can have these holidays and spend time with the people we love.

We spent time with friends on Saturday night, it was nice to get out of the house and share some laughs. I think Adam enjoyed playing his first Corn Hole of the summer season!! Thanks for the invite Justin and Kristen!!

Sunday we took Madelyn to Anderson for the first time, we always enjoy spending hot summer days at Steve and Lucinda's house. Maddy slept most of the time but we know as she gets older she will be in the water right next to her cousin Adrienne!! Adam took our niece Adrienne fishing! It's fun to watch her reaction when they catch something and fun to watch Adam cast a little Barbie fishing pole.

On Monday my family came up from Bloomington and we cooked-out at our house. The weather wasn't the best so we spent our time inside but it was still nice to visit. Thanks for bringing all the food!!!

We hope you all had a great weekend as well!! Oh and congrats to Helio for winning his 3rd Indy 500, we are hoping next year to be there in person!!

A Week Of First's!

We survived our first week at home with a newborn...whew!! That's doesn't mean it wasn't stressful and exhausting at times. We had a few diaper mishaps and a few sleepless nights but other then that it was a pretty good first week home.

We took Maddy to the pediatrician on Monday and she passed all the tests with flying colors. She was even back up to her birth weight which Dr. Rob was pleased with.

Madelyn's umbilical cord fell off in the middle of the night on Tuesday night so Thursday we were able to give her a real bath. She did really well and seemed to enjoy it until she had to get out of the warm water and then we saw a little temper.

We had a few days this week where the weather was really nice and the rain ceased for a while, we were able to go on our first walk as a family. I was concerned about how Jada would do with the stroller but she was great and didn't seem to mind the extra walking buddy at all.

Tomorrow we will venture to Bloomington for our first road trip with Maddy. I will update later on how the trip goes.

First Mother's Day!!

Today I celebrated my first Mother's Day!!! It was really fun to wake up this morning knowing I was going to be able to really enjoy Mother's Day after so many years of dreading it. Ever since my mom died I have secretly despised the holiday and really didn't care much about celebrating it. Today was very different!!!

Adam made me breakfast in bed which was nice considering we didn't get much sleep last night. Madelyn decided to be a rock star last night and party until 2:00am, we are hoping for better tonight. We then took Maddy on her first outing and went to pick out my Mother's Day gift. Adam bought me a bracelet for my birthday that I can add charms too for Madelyn, he purchased the motherhood charm and we went today to add to it. I got her birthstone of course and a rose for our middle names.

We then came home and Steve, Lucinda and GG (Adam's grandma) came over and we had a nice lunch and visit. Maddy was awake most of the time and it was fun to see them interact with her!!

All in all this was the best Mother's Day I have had in a long, long time and I am already looking forward to next year.

Can't wait to celebrate Father's Day, Adam!!!!!

We did it!!!!!!

Madelyn Rose McCord made her entrance to the world on Tuesday May 5th, 2009 at 2:20pm. She weighed 9 pounds zero ounces and was 20 inches long. I had her via c-section after 21 hours of labor, I am very thankful for cesareans after I found out how much she weighed!!!

Adam and I are both so thrilled and still can't believe she is all ours, she is so perfect and we can't get over how much you can instantly fall so deeply in love with someone. Maddy has her daddy's heart wrapped around her finger!! I absolutely love to watch him with Maddy and the way he looks at her.

We are home and trying to get settled, the first night went pretty well. Adam and I will both be adjusting to much less sleep then were used to but when you wake up and see her face it's more then worth it.

We would like to say thank you to everyone that called, emailed or came to visit. We are very lucky to have such great friends and family!!

Enjoy the pictures, we will post more as we take them. You can see all the pics if you click on Our Pictures to the right of the screen.

Headed to the hospital!!!!

Adam and I are headed to the hospital this afternoon!!!! We are both very anxious and excited. I went to my doctor appointment at 1:00pm and Dr. Kenley and I were on the same wave length, I even took my bag with me in hopes I would be going over to the hospital. He said he didn't see any reason to wait!!! I think my blood pressure being 140/110 didn't hurt the cause any. We are scheduled to be at the hospital at 4:30pm for them to induce me.

We will keep you all updated as best we can!!!

We can't wait to meet Madelyn!! Adam is hoping for a Cinco De Mayo baby, we will see!!

Happy Birthday Jackson!!!

Adam and I would like to wish Jackson a HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!!! It sure doesn't feel like a year ago that we went to visit Justin and Kristen in the hospital after having Jackson. It has been so much fun to watch all the changes over this first year and we are very excited to see what the 2nd year brings. Adam and I got the opportunity to babysit Jackson a few times over the past year and we enjoyed every second of it. I don't think I have ever met such a happy little person, you can tell how much he is loved.

Jackson,

It doesn't look like you will be sharing your birthday with Maddy but we are hoping you will get to meet real soon!!! We hope you had a great first birthday, we know how hard your mom and dad worked to make it very special for you!!

Love,
Adam and Sara

Update #2

I had my 39 week appointment this morning and unfortunately not much has changed since Monday. My blood pressure was fairly high when we arrived but that was because every possible traffic situation that could have happened did on the way there. I was stressed because I hate to be late and we were about 10 minutes late.

Dr. Dupler took my blood pressure a second time once I had sat in the room for a little while and it had dropped. He wasn't concerned. I on the other hand was ready for them to send me to the hospital, I am more then ready to do this!!!

We did talk quite a bit about inducing and Adam and I decided to wait through the weekend and if nothing happens then we will consider the induction on Monday after my appointment. So if Madelyn doesn't decide to get things moving this weekend then we will probably be meeting her early next week.

We will keep you all updated if anything changes!!
